Earth promises a memorable meal that will leave you wanting more. Earth, nestled amid balsam trees and birch forests, was inspired by a concept that promotes community and links the world of great food to the farmers and foragers who source the ingredients.

Earth's creative, simple cuisine emphasizes “farm to fork” freshness. Local meats and shellfish are combined with ingredients from one of two onsite organic gardens, collected daily and used to each meal to enhance the tastes and create a fresh taste. Handcrafted pastas, charcuterie, and wood oven dishes will delight your taste buds. Our wine program includes Argentina, Chile, and Lebanon, and our unique cocktails include freshly blended fruits and garden herbs.

Your surrounds are amazing because Earth has brought the outdoors in. Earth’s walls are made of trees chopped to clear the land, and spherical wood “cookies” provide rustic charm. A restored apple tree with small ivory lights hangs over the cement floor as the dining room's main chandelier. A nightly outdoor campfire adds fire to your dining experience overlooking the pond, and dramatic candlelight produces a lovely glow.

Fresh herbs, heirloom vegetables, and edible flowers… much of Earth’s produce comes from our Garden

Beets, squash, Swiss chard, lettuces, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatoes, Lemon Balm, Thai Basil, Lavender, and Vietnamese Cilantro grow in the Chef's Garden. High-bush blueberries, Nasturtium, Calendula, Sweet William, and Pansies welcome customers at the restaurant door.

Joe Schafer,
Executive Chef

In June 2017, Chef Joe Schafer returned to Kennebunkport to lead Earth at Hidden Pond. Chef Schafer maintains Earth's heritage of using fresh, local ingredients in unique dishes as executive chef. His dishes enhance Hidden Pond's rural atmosphere. Chef Schafer uses ingredients from Hidden Pond's organic farm and chef's garden and local vendors to create his dishes. He nourishes all dishes and seeks to improve Earth's cuisine.
